On end of April I met my hero Mr.Carroll Shelby at Riverside Cobra.
He using alumnum body of made in Poland and it was terrible body! It was under 1 mm thickness alumnum sheet and pressed. Already his personal owned FIA 289 Cobra had many dents on every where. As usual I 'm using 1.65 mm aluminum sheet for hand forming.
He send his FIA 289 to my shop and I start fix it but it was hard job.
I show how I fix it for you.

With my hero Mr.Carroll Shelby and me.

These photos are no good for show dents but deck panel around roll bar were already somebody tried fix and welding was tribble job! Also bith side fender, trunk lid or engine hood has deep dents. I can fix these dents by delicate hammer work (used wood or leather hammers) but rear deck panel must be replace it.

I took out roll ber and inner panels also fuel tank form body and cut off part of frame under rear deck panel.

Build up anti-heat around welding area.

After welding and engine hood fixed by hammer and wet sanding by 2000 grit paper.
Mr.Shelby bring new 427 frame (CSX3066)and I must make new aluminum body on it!
