Almost 25 years one mysterious engine sitting on floor of my garage.

It is famous Coventry Climax FWE engine but most inside parts were gone.

Engine number is 8751 and originally this engine was used on VIN#1275 Lotus Elite S1.

I checked1990 owners list and found this car in Australia?

What kind engine on #1275 now?

One day I decided find inner parts and rebuild this beautiful engine.
Still famous Lady Godiva medal on cam cover!

Out side condition is like this but inside is nothing.

I called long time my friend and Lotus specialist, Mike Ostrov for help.

I hope he can help me for find inside parts for me.

I drove up to Oakland for pick up missing parts of my FWE engine on 23rd Saturday.

Mike had tech seminar for members of Golden Gate Lotus Club on same day.

I met these people and I had great time.

Mike examine my FWE engine and gave me many technically advice for rebuild this engine.

Engine block and cylinder wall is good condition.
Head is good condition too.

Reaming stadbolts of FWE engine.

Flange of oil pump was broken.

I fixed it!

I get these parts from Mike Ostrov.

I start buffing all aluminum engine.

I found buffle plate has crack (right)and making new one by thick steel plate(left).
