My favorite Lotus Elite


It's a beautiful car!

I want talk to you about fascinate of this car.

Lotus elite is one of the best -looking automobiles ever built but designed by Lotus accountant!Peter Kirwan over 51 years ago.

This car has only1200 cc engine and real small car but if you have chance for see this car with out other cars,you can not imagine size of this car.

Because combination of long hood and small roof is like E type Jaguar.

But this is real traditional design of British sports car with short front over hang and long boot.
15 inch wire wheels are one of beautiful point of this car too.
Other beautiful point is front air intake grill,this is same shape of early 60's Lotus Formula car and this grill is early Lotus family face Elan or Europe.
Elite has stainless steel grill guard but I do not like and I took out.

I was in Japan I start looking this car.
Originally only 7 Elite imported to Japan on 60's.
Most cars went to car manufactures for research or test.
I knew Mr.Soichiro Honda who is founder of Honda Motor has it and try buy it from him but he like this car and enjoyed driving.
25 years ago I came to USA and started looking this special car.
Finally I found it ($4,000!) but owner change deal, he want sell this car with Saab Sonnet 3 for $7,500! but I did not had that kind money.
Just on time I get extra job from Toyota USA for take pictures (I'm Professional photographer too!)
for sales brochure with $3,500 deal!
My first big spending in USA was piano and second was this car!
