I tried sell this all aluminum 240Z five cars for $60,000 each but nobody ordered and I stopped sell this car and I making this car for myself. 

Still I believed it was real bargain!                         It is real one-off show car now!

I'm very surprised that many people want to hear more information. I explain your question about this project.

I have 42 years experience in making of concept car, including the aluminum bodys of classic British car and Ferrari. Toyota 2000GT's project is the first Japanese car of my aluminum work. It was very complicated construction because Toyota had made the 2000GT as a handmade supreme sports car. 

The project is getting on finish. 

 I chose Datsun 240Z for the second Japanese car of my aluminum project. Why is the 240Z ?  Because the 240Z, mass production car, had a great success in the sports car market.            The design of the 240Z was gave totally sophisticated line.

The aluminum body is not just for million dollars car, but for beautiful design car. Though the 240Z of aluminum uni-body is difficult to keep the strength of the body, I already made sure that the aluminum body of the 240Z has enough strength.

Its structure needs to reinforce, but the power train of the exist 240Z will enable to transplant to new aluminum body without modification.

Also, I will make a special frame for this aluminum body as an option. Its frame is loaded the double wishborne suspension on the front and rear.

I start make door skin.

I measure and cutaluminum sheet.

I used English wheel for make shape.

I used wood hammer on wood stump for detail.

Separately I made door handle pocket.

I made complete door and checked weight of original and new aluminum door.                    Original door is 34.82 lb(15.78kg)                       New door is      19.84 lb(9.0kg)

I decided will make complete door only because if put new aluminum door skin on old inner panel, just 5.9 lb less weight than original door.

I got 71 240Z donnor car for this project only $1200 but it is good shape and this car go to restoration and I will find other donnor car.
